Buying apparel online can be a little tricky sometimes. One company’s “medium” is another company’s “good lord, who is this made for?”

So we wanted to put together a little down-to-earth guide based on real feedback from customers just like you. No fashion-industry jargon. Just honest tips from a small Maritime shop that talks to people every single day about sizing.

Unisex = Men’s Sizing

This one catches folks all the time.

A Unisex tee or hoodie is actually based on men’s sizing.

We know… confusing. But that’s the industry standard.

So if you normally wear a women’s medium, you will likely want to order a small in unisex for a more regular fit.

If you order the same size you normally wear in women’s apparel, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll open the package and think:

“Well… I could probably fit a canoe under this.”

And trust us… you wouldn’t be the first.

Women’s Tees Fit Differently

Our women’s tees are more fitted and tapered along the sides compared to unisex styles.

If you like a more relaxed or loose fit in a women’s tee, we usually recommend sizing up one size.

For example:

Like a fitted look? Order your regular women’s size.

Like a little breathing room for lounging, layering, or reaching for another garlic finger? Size up one.

Prefer Unisex But Don’t See Your Design?

No trouble at all — just give us a ring.

Our Best Sizing Tip?

Measure a shirt or hoodie you already love.

That’s the secret.

Lay it flat, compare it to our size charts, and you’ll usually end up much happier than guessing based on what size you wear in another brand.

Because sizing these days is all over the map.
